HOUSTON – Houston police have a suspect in custody after a man was fatally stabbed on the southwest side of town Thursday.
Authorities say the stabbing happened in the 100 block of Broadhurst Drive.
According to Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD, the stabbing happened after an argument inside a home. Witnesses told police the suspect in the stabbing ran away from the scene afterwards.

A short time later, Crowson said people at Almeda Elementary School, which is a few blocks away from the crime scene, spotted a suspicious man covered in blood walking by the school.
Houston ISD Police were called and took the man into custody. Houston Police confirm the man is the suspect in the fatal stabbing.
