FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Fort Bend County Animal Services has unveiled it’s brand new, state of the art mobile pet adoption vehicle, meant to bring the people to the pets.
“The animals will be available for adoption right then and there,” said FBCAS Director Rene Vasquez.

It’s a way to bring adoptable dogs and cats to community events, offering on-the-spot adoption and fostering opportunities across the county. In addition to providing a climate controlled environment for as many as 21 dogs or cats per outing, the mobile unit will also be used for pet health services like microchipping and vaccinations, as well as during emergency weather events or hoarding situations to help get pets to safety.
The mobile adoption unit made its debut this past weekend in Fulshear. The goal is to give residents access to adoptable pets across the county, in addition to the dogs and cats at their shelter location in Rosenberg.
“Fort Bend County’s about 875 square miles,” Vasquez said. “Having the ability to be in other (county) locations is a great thing.”
