HOUSTON – Many people already know cities like Houston are extremely diverse, but for those who didn’t, Texas (at least according to a recent study) was ranked the second most diverse state in the country for the second year in a row!

Researchers at WalletHub compared diversity across all 50 states, narrowing it down to several different categories, including socioeconomic, cultural, religious, and political diversity.
The results should not come as a surprise to native Texans that the Lone Star State would be high up in the ranks. WalletHub also reported Texas to have the most industry diversity, and one of the highest numbers of linguistic, religious, and racial/ethnic diversity.
California outranked Texas, however, by being named the most diverse state by WalletHub.

West Virginia, on the other hand, was ranked the least diverse state in the U.S.
