Police release photos of persons of interest in deadly SW Houston apartment shooting

HOUSTON – Houston Police are asking for the public’s help to solve a deadly shooting that occurred Monday night at the Idlewood Park Apartments off West Bellfort Avenue. A 38-year-old man died at the scene after being shot multiple times.

Investigators released surveillance photos of two persons of interest—a man and a woman seen riding a motorcycle—and a truck connected to the incident.

KPRC 2 Reporter Corley Peel spoke with a relative of the victim, who was with him moments before the shooting. The relative said the victim stepped outside and was heard arguing with someone before multiple gunshots were fired. By the time he ran outside, his family member was already dead.

Officers responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. Monday and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A bullet was found to have gone through a window, and multiple shell casings were collected as evidence.

The man and woman on the motorcycle were seen leaving the apartment complex shortly after the shooting. The truck involved was later found abandoned about three miles away near Beechnut Street and Regent View Drive, riddled with bullet holes. The driver’s whereabouts remain unknown.

The victim’s relative said the man had only lived at the apartment complex for a few weeks and was unsure of the motive or what the argument was about.

No suspects have been officially named. Police urge anyone with information about the identities of the persons of interest or their vehicles to contact Houston Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
