Governor Abbott announces SBA assistance for families impacted by Spring Branch apartment fire

Texans affected by last month’s Spring Branch apartment fire on Teague Road can now apply for federal disaster assistance.

Governor Greg Abbott announced today U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) approved his request for a disaster declaration. This means qualifying homeowners, renters and business owners can apply for low-interest loans to help repair and rebuild.

SBA will open a Disaster Loan Outreach Center starting Thursday, Sept. 18 at 12 p.m. at: 1625 Blalock Road, Houston, TX 77080

The center will be open weekdays from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Texans can also apply online at sba.gov/disaster, call the SBA Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955, or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information.

For people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability, dial 7-1-1 to access relay services.

Completed applications may also be mailed to:
