Houston police looking for man who robbed elderly victim using walker outside store

HOUSTON – Police need your help finding a man accused of robbing a 74-year-old outside a convenience store in southeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division, it happened around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, on Martin Luther King Boulevard near the South 610 Loop.

Surveillance video from HPD shows the elderly man walking toward the store with his walker when an unidentified man suddenly reaches into his pocket and grabs his cash.

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for an aggravated robbery (elderly). On Saturday, August 30, 2025, at around 10:00 am, the complainant (a 74-year-old male) was at a convenience store parking lot, located at the 6300 block of Martin Luther King, in Houston, Texas. While the complainant was walking through the parking lot towards the store, he was approached by an unknown male. The male suddenly reached into the complainant’s pocket and forcibly removed his cash, which then caused the complainant to lose his balance with his walker and fall to the ground. The suspect then casually walked away from the location. The victim is then seen losing his balance and falling to the ground, while the robber is seen casually walking away.

Investigators believe the robber was between 17 and 25 years old, wearing a black jacket, faded blue jeans, white shoes, and a light blue backpack with a clean-cut look with a short afro hairstyle.
