“Houston means so much to me, and I wanted to create an event that not only celebrates the championship but also brings the community together,” Vince Young said in a statement announcing the tailgate.

Longhorn fans and the Houston community were invited to enjoy food vendors, live DJ sets, games, prizes, giveaways, and special appearances.

Local favorite Cupcake Kitchen, a Houston pop-up restaurant, made an appearance, delighting guests with its popular dishes.

Exotic Pop, located at 5410 Almeda Road, released a special commemorative burnt orange soda in honor of Vince Young’s 20th anniversary.

The highlight of the event was the UTEP vs. UT game, which was shown on a big screen this evening. The Longhorns won, 27-10.

This event was more than a watch party—it was a celebration of history, community, and one of Texas’ most iconic sports moments, with Vince Young himself in attendance.

“It’s about good vibes, good food, and showing love for the city,” Young added.
