Deputies said a witness reported seeing Johnson fire several shots at a group of seven dogs around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex on Hillcroft.
Two dogs were found with gunshot wounds and were taken by the Houston SPCA’s Animal Rescue Ambulance for emergency treatment.
“One dog has multiple fractures; the other has a broken ulna. Both have gunshot wounds with entry and exit points,” said Dr. Roberta Westbrook, Senior VP of Veterinary Medicine at the Houston SPCA. Westbrook adds that both dogs are stable and in good condition.
Authorities encourage anyone who suspects animal cruelty to contact the Houston SPCA hotline at 713-869-7722 or submit a report online at houstonspca.org/animal-cruelty.
