The Woodlands Fire Department said it happened around 3:30 p.m. and students and staff were evacuated from the building.
Firefighters investigated and found the smoke was coming from construction work being done on the roof near an air handler.
Firefighters ventilated the room and coordinated with school officials and the construction crew.
Students and staff were then allowed to reenter the building.
