Two men were shot Sunday afternoon in a possible drug-related shooting that ended when their vehicle slammed into a home in north Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they received a call shortly after 2 p.m. about a vehicle crashing into a house in the 5300 block of Champions Way Lane. When investigators arrived, they found two men inside the car, both with gunshot wounds. The driver had been shot in the head, while the passenger was shot in the lower leg and foot area. Both were rushed to the hospital.

No one inside the home was hurt, despite the vehicle striking the residence while it was occupied, deputies said.

Detectives reviewed Ring doorbell video from a nearby home and determined the men in the car had met with two other people for a suspected drug transaction. At some point, investigators believe the suspects tried to get into the victims’ vehicle and one of them opened fire.

The driver attempted to flee but was shot, causing him to crash into the house.

Sheriff’s deputies and investigators are continuing to process the scene and search for the suspects.
