A Harris County woman and her boyfriend have been charged after prosecutors say they abused an 8-year-old boy over several days, leading to his death earlier this year.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on Feb. 10 to a hospital in the 4400 block of Garth Road in Baytown after the child was brought in with multiple injuries.

The boy remained in critical condition for several days before dying. Investigators said his injuries were consistent with abuse and are believed to have happened at a home in the 100 block of Greendell Street near North Main Street in Highlands.
Detectives first arrested 18-year-old Nolan Stallings on March 3. Court records show he is charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury. Stallings was dating the victim’s sister at the time of the abuse.
Kara Walker, 17, the victim’s older sister, has also been charged with injury to a child. Prosecutors accused her of intentionally striking the child with a blunt object and said the abuse spanned several days, ultimately leading to the boy’s death.
Both Stallings and Walker are being held in the Harris County Jail. Walker is due back in court on Aug. 29.
KPRC 2 has requested additional details on the case.
