SPRING, Texas – One of the biggest problems for kids heading back to school is what to do if you come face-to-face with a bully.
Now, a former Marine with combat experience has created a special class to teach children how to beat the bullies at their own cruel game.
Meet Joe Morris, a Marine Corps veteran and passionate martial arts instructor. He’s on a mission to teach boys and girls, ages six to 12, how to handle one of the toughest challenges many children face: bullying.
“They come in and tell us their kid’s being bullied all day long at school. They don’t want to go to school anymore. I’ve had parents come to me saying their kid doesn’t want to live anymore.”
The weight of these words brings to light the emotional toll bullying takes on children and families.
What is the Bully-Proof Heroes program?
Joe created this self-defense class years ago—not to teach kids to fight back with anger—but to empower them to defuse any situation safely and confidently.
Using a blend of martial arts moves, children learn how to:
- Neutralize an attacker without causing harm
- Use specialized techniques to safely end an attack within seconds
Imagine a child, faced with bullying, equipped not only with moves but with confidence and calm.
👊 Joe’s demonstration shows that with the right skills, kids can protect themselves effectively.
“You either stay so close to the bully that they can’t throw punches, or you use specialized takedowns, tackles, trips, or throws to get on top—without beating up the bully.”
Real impact: Owen’s story
Brittany Cabrera enrolled her 9-year-old son Owen after he struggled with bullies.
“He’s learned how to defend himself and others. He’s learned to speak up for himself.”
Owen not only defends himself but now also stands up to protect other kids who face bullying — a true hero in the making.
Owen loves the training and, more importantly, the lessons of courage, respect, and empathy he’s gaining in the gym.
Why this matters
Bullying can make children afraid, isolated, and hopeless. Programs like Bully-Proof Heroes give them tools to reclaim their power, protect themselves, and build self-esteem.
Every child deserves to feel safe, confident, and strong. Through Joe’s dedication, children like Owen are given not just skills—but a lifeline.
If you would like your own children to get a taste of what Joe’s training is all about, Joe will be holding an absolutely free Bully-Proof Heroes class on September 6th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at his training facility, The Condition 1 Combat Training Center, located at 606 Rayford Road in Spring.
Again, this class is open to any child six to-12 years old and is absolutely free.
