If you’re headed towards US 290 on Tuesday morning, you may want to look for an alternate route.
All mainlanes on US 290 at Becker are shut down due to a FedEx truck catching fire.
Details surrounding the fire are not clear, but deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened around midnight.
The driver has since been hospitalized with minor injuries.
Crews have been working for hours to contain the fire, but Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the back of the FedEx trailer continues to reignite. The freeway is expected to be shut down for the next few hours.
In the meantime, drivers should search for alternate routes.
