The men approached a man who was waiting for the elevator after just arriving to the hotel. They forced him to the ground, repeatedly striking him and running away with his belongings.
The men then fled the scene, getting into a white four-door Buick sedan from the right passenger doors before speeding away.
The circumstances of the robbery sounded like a possible jugging-type robbery. The victim had recently won a large sum of money playing poker at a private social club located in the 6100 block of Westheimer. Police believe the suspects may have been aware of these winnings and followed the man from the club.
One of the suspects was seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts with a bucket hat. The other wore a black hoodie and black pants with some sort of white facial covering.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston directly. Tips leading to the arrest and charging of felony suspects may be eligible for a cash reward up to $5,000.
To remain anonymous and be considered for a reward, tipsters should call 713-222-TIPS (8477), submit an online tip at www.crime-stoppers.org, or use the Crime Stoppers mobile app.
