If you’re an AT&T customer, you may be eligible to receive thousands of dollars following a $177 million settlement related to two major data breaches.
The breaches, which occurred in March and July of last year, exposed sensitive information, including Social Security numbers and phone numbers, of millions of current and former customers.
The first breach affected 73 million people, with Social Security numbers and other personal data found in a dataset circulating on the dark web. The second breach exposed nearly all AT&T customers’ phone numbers.
While AT&T has not admitted wrongdoing and maintains it is not responsible for the criminal actions behind the data breaches, the company agreed to the settlement in an effort to avoid prolonged litigation.
Who is eligible?
Customers impacted by either of the data breaches should have received a class member ID via email or mail. If you think your information may have been compromised and you have not received a class member ID, you can contact the settlement administrator. Those affected by both breaches could receive up to $7,500.
To check your eligibility and submit a claim, visit the official settlement website: www.telecomdatasettlement.com.
The deadline for submitting a claim is November 18th, 2025.
