HOUSTON – A man was recovering after a shooting at a home on Wheeler Avenue and Scott Street at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police said a group of uninvited guests arrived at the private party. When they were asked to leave, a fight broke out.

“As soon as I could tell people are getting mad, that’s usually when I leave cause you never know,” said witness Sherrie Martinez. “As soon as I feel like someone’s getting mad and I didn’t know what they were fighting about, so I was just like, ‘It’s time to go.’”
One of those uninvited guests grabbed a gun from his car and fired into the crowd.
A man was shot in the leg.
He is expected to survive.
Police said they believe they know who the shooter is, but have not made any arrests.
Several partygoers returned to retrieve their belongings from the scene.
