‘It’s not working’: Some Houston ISD parents frustrated after issues logging into new district communication app

HOUSTON – Several parents at Field Elementary School in the Heights say they have been unable to log into Houston ISD’s new ParentSquare app, a tool designed to streamline communication between families, teachers and schools.

Bethany Hill, whose son attends Field Elementary, said she has tried to access ParentSquare at least 10 times on Tuesday without success.

“I just want to be able to communicate with my son’s teachers,” Hill said. “But it’s not working.”

Hill said she contacted school administrators, who responded but were unable to resolve the issue. Frustrated, she reached out to KPRC 2 for help.

KPRC 2 spoke with three parents experiencing similar problems with the app.

When contacted by KPRC 2, officials with the Houston ISD press office asked for the names, phone numbers and email addresses of the affected parents. The district said ParentSquare’s technical staff would reach out directly to help resolve the login issues.

For now, Hill and other parents remain frustrated as they wait for a solution.

If you are a parent having trouble logging on to ParentSquare, HISD recommends you go to this website for help getting into and using the app.
