HOUSTON – Only in Houston could you find a legal team this dedicated to breaking into song and dance.
For more than 30 years, Night Court has brought together Houston-area attorneys to write, produce, and perform an original musical comedy, raising over $1.6 million for local charities that provide free legal services.

According to Tara Taheri, one of this year’s executive producers, media relations chair, and cast members, this isn’t just improv night in a conference room.
We’re talking full costumes, live orchestra, and a storyline that changes every year.
“It’s deeply fulfilling to contribute to such an amazing cause,” Taheri, who has been involved since 2014, explained. “I absolutely love the mission—being able to help those in need while performing! I also really enjoy the camaraderie with the Night Court family.”
This year’s production, “Law’s Anatomy,” takes audiences inside Houston Hope Hospital, where lawyers shadow doctors on patient rounds in the spirit of transparency.” Morale at the hospital is low, but in classic Night Court style, hijinks and harmonies are never far away. Expect sharp legal wit, medical melodrama, and musical numbers ranging from the Bee Gees to Chappell Roan.
The show isn’t just for a legal crowd, though attorneys in the audience can earn 2.5 hours of ethics continuing legal education during the performance.
“Lawyers can be entertaining and funny!” Taheri explained. “But seriously, we do hope to entertain and hope everyone has a fantastic night out, enjoying the evening, laughing, singing, and dancing while raising money for those in need.”
