HOUSTON – An armed robbery suspect is dead after leading Houston police on a chase and being shot by officers Sunday evening.
Officers responded to reports of an armed robbery around 7 p.m. near Bellaire and Kirkwood.
HPD is responding to an officer involved shooting at 8800 Aspen Meadow Drive.

Preliminary information is officers pursued a robbery suspect who exited his vehicle with a weapon in hand.

After getting information on the suspect’s vehicle, officers located it and tried to pull the driver over, but he refused, leading police on a 15-minute chase throughout southwest Houston.
The suspect eventually stopped at a home in the 8800 block of Aspen Meadow Drive, where officers said he exited the vehicle armed.
Officers gave multiple verbal commands for the suspect to drop his weapon, but he refused. Multiple officers then fired their guns, fatally shooting the suspect.
No officers were injured in the incident.
The suspect, described by officers as being in his 30s, has not been identified. Investigators are looking into his possible involvement in other robberies.
