Two alleged members of a violent Houston street gang known as “Free Money” have been indicted in connection with a deadly 2022 shooting in a shopping center parking lot.
Terry Ardoin, 24, and Travonte Ardoin, 27, both of Houston, are charged with murder and attempted murder in aid of racketeering. The indictment accuses them of ambushing two people in broad daylight as part of an ongoing gang war.

According to court documents, the Ardoins followed a Chevrolet Equinox into a shopping center lot, waited for one victim to exit a store, then opened fire as he returned. One person was killed and another injured. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and described the sound of a fully automatic weapon.
The case is being prosecuted in the Southern District of Texas as part of a federal initiative to combat violent crime in Houston.
If convicted, the men face life in prison or the death penalty.
