Deputies with the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office said Kyle Williams, 31, is an ex-boyfriend of one of the residents living in a mobile home on Ada Lane in New Caney, a little after 1:45 a.m. on July 9. However, when responding crews got to the home, they said an elderly woman was trapped inside her bedroom.
Firefighters were able to get her out safely and rushed her to the hospital for life-threatening smoke inhalation. And while for a moment, it seemed unclear if she would survive, she has since recovered and been discharged from the hospital, MCFMO confirmed.

About an hour later, firefighters noticed the flames spread to a nearby home. Fortunately, that home was vacant, and they were able to quickly put out the fire before it spread to nearby buildings.
During the investigation, officials found Williams had a lengthy criminal record, including indecency with a child, family violence, and drugs, along with active (but unrelated) warrants out of Montgomery Co.
