HOUSTON – As investigators with Harris County Sheriff’s Office are looking into multiple allegations of sexual assault against Carl Redfield, a 47-year-old man currently facing five felonies connected to the attack of two different women, additional victims are starting to come forward.
“What he did isn’t okay, and he is the type of person that thinks he’s untouchable. He thinks that this will pass, he’s going to get out and he will continue to do it,” said one woman, who didn’t want to be identified, but filed a report with the sheriff’s office on Tuesday.
She knew Redfield from years past but reconnected with him last year on a website known for hookups.
The single mother-of-two said she fell on hard times and needed help making ends meet to provide for her children, and Redfield, while posing as an attorney, promised that he would help take care of her bills in exchange for sex.
“One night, he was just like, ‘Look, there’s $1,000 on the floor right now. Send me all your bill information’,” she said. “He even went to far as to ask me if I want to date him, be his girlfriend, he’ll take care of me financially.”
She ended up going to an apartment where he was, she said, and found him drinking vodka shots with what she believed to be a 9mm pistol. She said he claimed to be suicidal and have cancer, so he was wanting to give back and help others.
After their encounter, the woman said that he never paid the money he promised or put it on her rent account. She eventually stopped asking for payment.
“I was scared, and I was bullied into thinking, ‘Here’s this lawyer, here’s this guy that has all this power,’” she said.
She read news of his arrest on Click2Houston.com on Monday night and said it made her relive the experience.

“There are sick people out there, and sometimes these people are capable of things that we didn’t even know,” she said. “Reading the article made me relive it, made me think about everything, and then I thought back to there was a f****** camera in the room. There was a camera pointed at the bed and all I could think about is what if like what kind of sick stuff was on it.”
Harris County investigators said they found an overwhelming number of videos of sexual encounters and some victims didn’t realize they were being recorded. Additionally, they said all of his victims have reported a similar pattern of manipulation and coercion.
Lead detective Nicholas Cooke encouraged anyone to come forward, despite how they may have met Redfield or what their intentions were.
“Our concern is the survivors and we’re not here to go out of our way to cross prosecute anybody, remove children. We are here to be your voice and for justice. So, if there’s somebody out there that is a victim of this have no concern that we are trying to infiltrate your life, expose your past, or anything of that nature. We are here to ensure justice as much as they’re willing to cooperate with us,” Det. Cooke said.
The woman who spoke exclusively with KPRC 2 on Tuesday said she called the sheriff’s office to make a report late in the day. After the morning press conference, investigators said they already started getting called about Redfield.
He is a former correctional officer in Indiana who got convicted of drug trafficking inside the state prison, according to Harris County investigators. KPRC 2 has reached out to officials in Indiana for additional information.
“I felt stupid. I felt humiliated. At the time, it was like... He’s not gonna get away with this,” the woman said. “I hope that justice is served.”
Redfield is due back in court on Thursday morning.
