Shell Federal Credit Union (FCU) is warning some of its accountholders about unauthorized charges related to their Robox accounts.
“We’ve recently been made aware that some members are experiencing unauthorized charges related to Roblox on their accounts,” the company explained in a statement on its website.

Details as to how it all happened are still under investigation. However, Shell FCU confirmed in a statement to KPRC 2 that the fraudulent charges seem to be stemming from what it described as a “verified processor.”
“The charges in question are currently pending through a verified processor, which limits our ability to block them without causing greater disruption,” Shell FCU said in its statement. “Due to industry-wide processing regulations, pending charges cannot be removed until they officially post to your account.”
Fortunately, no accounts should be impacted, the credit company noted.
“We want to assure you that Shell FCU has not experienced any data breaches,” the statement added. “Card information can unfortunately be compromised through external merchants or third-party processors, but no breach has occurred within our systems.
“If you have specific concerns, please send us a direct message with your phone number so a team member can reach out to assist you personally."
Additionally, Shell FCU’s team is aware and working to address the issue.
“Please rest assured that we take this matter very seriously,” Shell FCU concluded. “Fraud monitoring rules have been implemented, and we are actively working to protect your accounts.”
