HOUSTON – A 2-year-old girl was tragically killed after police said her brother accidentally ran her over in Southeast Houston.
It happened on Leonora Street near Bellfort Avenue just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police said a family was unloading groceries when the girl ran into the parking lot playing with a sibling.
They said her older brother was unaware she was behind the pickup truck, backed up and hit her.
The family called 911 and tried to render aid.
Paramedics rushed the girl to Texas Children’s Hospital where she died.
Her brother was not facing charges.
“The preliminarily information that we have, and the initial investigation all suggests is that this was just a terrible incident,” said Sgt. Thomas Fendia with the Houston Police Department’s Vehicle Crimes Division Crash Reconstruction Unit.
