KPRC 2’s Gage Goulding to recap award-winning Derecho coverage on Discovery’s ‘In The Eye Of The Storm’

HOUSTON – Discovery Channel is about to launch the second season of its series “In The Eye Of The Storm,” and Houston audiences will see a familiar face in the season debut episode.

The first episode, which is set to premiere Sunday evening, looks at the 2024 Houston Derecho, where KPRC 2 reporter Gage Goulding, along with photojournalist Adrian Crooks, were caught in the middle of it.

The Discovery Channel interviewed Gage earlier this year to talk about the coverage, which earned him an Emmy award, alongside KPRC 2 meteorologists Daji Aswad and then-chief meteorologist Frank Billingsley.

This past May marked one year since the deadly windstorm. During that time, Gage and photojournalist Jeovany Luna met with experts at Florida International University and got a firsthand look at their “Wall of Wind” facility, where they recreated the Houston Derecho to study how we can build more resilient buildings.
