Search underway for wanted man accused of shooting at Iowa Colony PD officer during traffic stop

IOWA COLONY, Texas – Authorities are looking for a wanted man accused of shooting at a police officer during an early morning traffic stop Tuesday.

According to a press release, an officer with the Iowa Colony Police Department pulled over a vehicle on Crystal View Drive near Hwy 288 within the city limits. That’s when officers said the unidentified driver got out of the vehicle and shot at the officer before running away.

The officer wasn’t injured but remains at large.

A multi-coordinated effort with partnering law enforcement agencies has identified the man and filed a warrant for his arrest, where he will be charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant.

No additional information has been shared, as of this writing, but police said there does not seem to be a threat to the community and will share more details as their investigation continues.
