HOUSTON – A North Shore Senior High School senior was killed, and two others were injured in a drive-by shooting at a pool party early Monday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, identified as Isaiah Phillip, was entering his senior year at North Shore High School and previously played on the North Shore football team.

The shooting happened around midnight at The Henry at Liberty Hills apartments, just off the Crosby Freeway.
Two other individuals were also hurt in the gunfire.
Witnesses described a chaotic and emotional scene. One woman who called 911 told KPRC 2 she saw Phillip lying unresponsive and attempted to save his life.
“It was just tragic,” she said. “I still see his face. You can’t unsee that.”
Phillip’s death marks another tragedy for the North Shore football community.
Just last March, North Shore football player Jarvon Coles was killed in a separate shooting at a party in Humble — a case that remains unsolved.
His grandfather, Braxton Coles, has since launched a nonprofit, Crash Our For Cause, aimed at preventing gun violence by educating youth in the area.
“In a game, if you get killed, you reset. On the street, there’s no reset,” Coles said.
KPRC 2 has also learned that Phillip was charged in connection to another shooting earlier this month.

According to court documents, Phillip was involved in a road rage incident on July 6 near Kuykendahl Road.
Investigators say he was riding in the passenger seat with another North Shore football player, Chace Calicut, when they encountered someone they had previous issues with.
Phillip allegedly pulled a gun and fired at the other vehicle.
No one was injured.

Authorities have not said whether Monday’s deadly shooting is connected to the earlier road rage incident.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no suspects have been identified in the pool party shooting.
