The training takes 20 weeks to complete, and it’s all online. According to their website, all of the tuition-free courses equip you with the necessary skills and tools you need to jumpstart your career in technology and digital media.
For recent graduate Angelica Velazquez, NPower’s program proved to be life changing. After dedicating 17 years to being a stay-at-home mom, she never imagined she’d find herself working as a Systems Analyst in Houston’s growing tech sector.
“I really thought it was probably too late to get anything without going to school,” Velazquez shares. “But NPower showed me you can start at any age.”
Velazquez says while the program’s fast-paced curriculum can be challenging, NPower provides comprehensive support every step of the way. From technical training to resume writing assistance and mock interviews, Velazquez says she was given with all the tools she needed to succeed.
“That mock interview, for me, it changed my life,” she explains. “That’s where I met one of the vendors, and I actually got hired by the same department that vendor worked for,” Velazquez said.
For those wondering if they have what it takes, Velazquez’s message is clear: “Hey, it’s never too late, you know? As long as you put your mind to it, and you’re dedicated, you can get what you’re looking for.”
