HOUSTON – A man will spend the rest of his life in prison about being sentenced for the 2022 shooting death of his ex-girlfriend’s 9-year-old daughter.
Jeremiah Jones was convicted for shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend’s daughter, Khylie, in their home on June 13, 2022. He was 22-years-old at the time. On Friday, he was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The girlfriend was also shot, but survived her injuries. Khylie died at a hospital.
Prosecutors said Jones was upset the girlfriend had broken up with him two months before and he had even threatened to kill her the week before.
During the trial, prosecutors said that Jones murder was pre-meditated because the car Jones was driving had a GPS system that investigators could track, seeing that he drove to the ex-girlfriend’s home that they shared together.
The prosecution brought this up because Jones said his alibi was that he was with another woman or on a date with another woman at the time of the shooting.
