Jury deliberations underway for father accused of murdering son, dumping his body on side of I-10

Jury deliberations are currently underway for the Chambers County man accused of murdering his son in 2023.

• Father of man whose body found dumped on side of I-10 in Chambers County charged with murder

Cobin Rocio was charged with murder after deputies with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office found his son’s body dumped on the side of I-10 and the 807-mile marker on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023.

Deputies said foul play was involved in the death of Romeo Jimerson, who was 29 years old at the time, and tracked down two suspects -- Jimerson’s father, Rocio, and a family friend, Melvin Carraway.

Rocio was arrested shortly after the murder in Harris County, and Carray was also arrested and charged with Acquaintance of Victim and Father.
