Trae Day Weekend is back for its 17th year, bringing four days of high-energy events, community outreach, and family fun to Houston, all led by hometown rapper and activist Trae Tha Truth.
The celebration kicked off Thursday afternoon with a free takeover of Flip N Fun Trampoline Park for local kids. It was followed by the popular Meet Up Ride with Trae, a massive bike ride through downtown that draws thousands of participants. The evening continues with a late-night after-party at CRU Lounge and a welcome event at KAMP Houston on Westheimer.

But the event is not just about parties, it is about purpose.
“For a moment, you don’t have to think about all the problems you’re dealing with. You can just enjoy life,” Trae told reporters. “Even while I’m doing this for our people in Houston, I’m also helping out in Cook County and Kerrville. I’m only one person, but we’re trying to make it work the best we can.”
Friday’s lineup includes a private bowling party for special needs families, a panel discussion on fatherhood, and a community outreach event to bless the homeless downtown. The evening ends with a Zydeco dance party at Rancho Eldorado and an album release celebration at Dome Nightclub.
Saturday marks the debut of a new highlight: the first-ever Trae Day Parade, featuring classic SLAB cars rolling out from the corner of San Jacinto and Elgin. Later, fans can catch a celebrity kickball game at Houston Sports Park, a day party at Paradise HTX, and an R&B jam session at Axelrad Beer Garden.
The weekend culminates with Trae Day Family Fun Day on Sunday, July 20, at SaberCats Stadium from 3 to 7 p.m. Organizers will distribute free backpacks, school supplies, and host games and carnival rides for children and their families. The night continues with a comedy festival at House of Blues and a grand finale party at KAMP and Polekatz.
Trae Day, founded by Trae Tha Truth and officially recognized by the City of Houston in 2008, is known for blending celebration with service. This year’s lineup offers something for everyone while giving back to the communities that need it most. Events continue through Tuesday, July 22.
