PASADENA, Texas – While an investigation continues over what led up to a man being shot and killed inside a Pasadena Bubba’s 33 restaurant on Friday night, KPRC 2 is learning new details from authorities.

Heriberto Zamora, 42, died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to his defense attorney and Harris County court records, he was charged in late June with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 and sexual assault of a child between ages 14 and 17, records show. His total bond was set at $50,000.

According to his defense attorney, the accuser in both cases was the same person. The victim reported the abuse to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in 2022. His attorney said he had just spoken to his client on the phone to discuss strategy for the case before the shooting.
Pasadena police say the restaurant shooter, 48-year-old Kenneth Leon Scott Jr., knew Zamora but didn’t disclose a motive.
The shooting happened just after 8 p.m. at the busy restaurant on Friday night. A couple at the restaurant told KPRC 2 News they hid in a freezer.

Another person, a restaurant employee, was injured by a stray bullet and is expected to be ok.
Scott took off from the scene after the shooting but was arrested early Saturday morning in Fayette County. He’s charged with murder and aggravated assault in Harris County, where he will eventually be brought to answer to the charges.
