As Kerr County continues recovering from devastating floods, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is leading a major donation drive to support families who lost everything.
Sheriff’s substations across the Houston area are collecting essential supplies, including diapers, canned food, hygiene products, pet supplies, and cleaning materials.

Donation drop-off locations are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through July 15 at:
- District 1: 6831 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas 77379
- District 2: 7900 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble, Texas 77338
- District 3: 14350 Wallisville Road, Houston, Texas 77049
- District 4: 16715 Clay Road, Houston, Texas 77084
- District 5: 23828 Tomball Parkway, Tomball, Texas 77375
“The donations came so fast. It was very emotional to see the community come together and be so giving,” said Sgt. Brenda Flores. “The community knew about it before we did. As soon as it was posted, they showed up instantly with truck-fulls and SUV-fulls of stuff.”
Employees at each substation have been working nonstop to sort, load, and move donations. At the Humble substation alone, several 18-wheelers have already been filled and sent to Kerrville.
“It was very heartwarming to see such an outpouring from the community,” said Claudia Griswold, District 2 clerk. “Here at the station, we’re used to seeing negative scenes and fatalities, so it was really impactful to see firsthand how much people still care about each other.”
Residents across Harris County — families, kids, seniors — have been moved to help after seeing images of destruction in the Hill Country. Many affected in Kerr County lost homes, vehicles, and basic necessities.
One touching moment came when a mother dropped off a gift card on behalf of her son and his friend.
“My son Thomas and his friend Enzo had a lemonade stand over the weekend — and they put their proceeds towards the Texas flood victims,” said Karen Crosby, adding to the growing donation pile in Humble. “They wanted to help. The Sheriff’s department posted about the drive on our community Facebook page, and I thought, great, we have a place to do it.”
All donations from the substations are consolidated, sorted, and sent directly to Kerr County and nearby communities still in crisis. What began as a local call for help has become a powerful reminder of community spirit in times of tragedy.
“Our hearts are with you,” Crosby said, addressing those impacted. “We think about you every day — and the loss is a devastation. We’re so sorry.”
