Texas Governor Greg Abbott has requested disaster assistance for three additional counties in Texas due to severe flooding.
The three new Texas counties are Coke, Concho, and Williamson.

Gov. Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to request the new counties be added to President Donald Trump’s Major Disaster Declaration.
“I thank President Trump and his administration for their ongoing assistance during our state’s response and recovery process,” Gov. Abbott said in a statement. “The state of Texas will continue to ensure that every affected community receives the support they need to recover and rebuild.”
Damage assessments in the three counties show they exceed federal criteria for FEMA’s Public Assistance program, which includes aid for emergency work and repair or replacement of disaster-damaged areas.
Additional counties could also be requested as updated information becomes available to officials.
