Houston named among top 20 best cities for recreation: WalletHub

HOUSTON – One of the many things I love about Houston is that there’s always something to do. You’ll just never get bored in this city, and a recent study is reminding people about that.

The team at WalletHub compared 100 of the largest U.S. cities across several factors, including entertainment accessibility, recreational facilities, park qualities, and the weather.

While the latter part of it may have cost Houston some points, the Space City managed to still make the top 20, coming in at 18th best, rivaled only by El Paso, which was ranked 17th.

Las Vegas took home the title of best recreational city, while Jersey City, NJ, was ranked the lowest. Also, not trying to throw shade, but Irving, TX was ranked among the worst at 97th. Yikes!

“Recreation is an important factor to consider when moving to a new city. Without adequate space for activities you enjoy, your mental health will suffer,” Chip Lupo, WalletHub Analyst, said. “The best cities for recreation have a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities that can help people of all ages stay entertained and active.”
