Your KPRC 2 Weather Team is tracking thunderstorms across the Greater Houston area.

The storms are ramping up Friday afternoon, but the good news is they won’t be as widespread as they were Monday through Wednesday.
Areas north and east of the city—like The Woodlands, the east side of Harris County, and up toward Lake Livingston—are forecast to see some heavier downpours as storm cells develop and move through by about 7 to 8 p.m.

Heading into Saturday, we’ll see storm chances crank back up into the 60-70% range. Part of the reason is we’re wedged between two large areas of high pressure west and east of Texas.
