KERRVILLE, Texas – It has been five days since devastating floods left massive destruction in the Texas Hill Country.
The flooding killed at least 120 people across six counties, with several rivers flooding.

Of all the counties affected, Kerr County suffered the greatest losses as a deadly wall of water roared down the Guadalupe River in the early morning hours of July 4.

Wednesday evening, the City of Kerrville came together in a vigil at Antler Stadium to pray for the victims and those still missing after the flood.

KPRC 2’s Gage Goulding was there and captured the emotional moments. Many tears were shed and hands were raised as hundreds prayed over the situation and all those affected.

As of Wednesday, Kerr County officials say 59 adults are dead, with 14 still unidentified. 36 children are confirmed dead, and 13 remain unidentified. Five campers and one counselor from Camp Mystic are still missing. The number of missing people countywide stands at 161.

Rescue teams, including local deputies, DPS agents, and even a fire department from Acuña, Mexico, continue combing heavily impacted debris fields along the Guadalupe River. Officials ask the public to avoid active work zones for safety.
