Mattress Mack to hold prayer vigil for victims of Hill Country flood in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – In response to the devastation caused by the Fourth of July floods in the Hill Country, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is hosting a vigil for the lives that were lost and that are still missing.

Mattress Mack, the owner of Gallery Furniture and a Houston legend and philanthropist, will be leading the prayer vigil, which will be open to the public.

The vigil will be held at the Annunciation Catholic Church in downtown Houston starting at 7 p.m.

Mack said several Houstonians have reached out to him in recent days, searching for a space to grieve, pray, and unite.

“Tonight’s vigil is his heartfelt response, an invitation for all to gather in solidarity and comfort during this incredibly difficult time,” the news release read, in part.
