Council Member Letitia Plummer, who currently represents At-Large Position 4 of Houston City Council announced her run Tuesday on social media.
In her post, CM Plummer describes herself as a fighter and touts her success as a city council member.
“I know the struggles far too many of our neighbors are experiencing right now,” Plummer said. “I worked my way through college and dental school while balancing a job and family. That’s the kind of experience I’ll bring to the County Judge’s office.”
Council Member Plummer is the third candidate to announce running for Harris County Judge.
Former Houston Mayor Annise Parker also announced her run back in June. Along with Parker, Piney Point Mayor Aliza Dutt was the first to enter the race to unseat longtime Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.

Plummer previously ran for the 18th Congressional District, which remains unoccupied after Sylvester Turner’s tragic passing. The jury is still out on whether Erica Lee Carter, daughter of the late Sheila Jackson Lee, who also ran for the 18th District, will run for Harris County judge.
“I want to make it clear: If Judge Lina Hidalgo chooses not to run for re-election, I, Erica Lee Carter, will be running for Harris County Judge,” Carter explained in a social media post.
Currently, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo holds the seat until the end of her term on Dec. 31, 2026.
