Country Music Star, Kerrville native Robert Earl Keen shares heartfelt message for Hill Country flood victims

HOUSTON – As the number of deaths from the Central Texas floods continues to climb, heartfelt messages are being shared from all over, including people you may not have expected, like country music star Robert Earl Keen.

Perhaps best known for his hit song, “The Road Goes On Forever,” shared a video message on social media, reminding residents of his Kerrville roots and how Camp Mystic, which he said “holds a special place in mine and my family’s hearts, as both of my daughters attended summer camp there.”

“My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected, and special thanks for the amazing support of the first responders from the community and all over Texas, rushing to aid those in need,” he said.

Keen also encouraged residents to donate to families in need through the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

He also said details will be shared soon to create a benefit concert honoring the victims.
