Police looking for driver who left man for dead during hit-and-run in SW Houston

HOUSTON – Authorities are searching for a driver who left a man for dead after a hit-and-run crash Thursday morning in SW Houston.

Details are limited due to how active the investigation is, but it happened on Albacore Drive off Bissonnet. A witness called the Houston Police Department about a body in the roadway, where investigators found the unidentified man, believed to be homeless, dead in the street.

At last check, HPD is investigating this as a deadly hit-and-run crash.

Investigators are combing the area, asking nearby businesses to help reach out for surveillance video to help find the driver. However, as of this writing, they have not given a description of the vehicle involved.
