Buttermilk Baby (July 1–7)

Celebrate the holiday week with the American Dream Shake, a $9.99 apple pie-flavored treat drizzled with red, white, and blue chocolate and topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. Pair it with the Uncle Samwich, a spicy buttermilk-marinated chicken sandwich layered with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and buffalo sauce. Through July 31, you can also try the Summer Berry Smash Sundae, made with yellow cake batter ice cream, strawberry purée, vanilla wafers, and whipped cream—a perfect way to cool off this summer.

Solarium (July 4)

Houston’s newest racquet sports-inspired lounge in Midtown is hosting an all-day July 4 celebration from 10 a.m. to midnight. Expect a backyard-style menu with ribs, half chickens, and classic sides like mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw. With a lively lounge inside and a patio overlooking the courts, Solarium is a great spot to stop before or after watching fireworks.
