Deputies launched the investigation after receiving reports that the business was running the operation without the required county permit.

During the bust, two individuals were arrested.

Andrea Aguillon, 22, of Freeport, and Shilu Patel, 54, of Rosharon, were charged with operating a game room without a permit, a Class A misdemeanor. Both were booked into the Brazoria County Jail on $5,000 bonds.

Investigators also executed a search warrant on the property, seizing 63 gaming machines and more than $13,000 in cash.

Under the Brazoria County Game Room Ordinance, game rooms must be permitted through the county and meet legal and safety standards. The ordinance was updated in 2024 by the Brazoria County Commissioner’s Court to strengthen enforcement and ensure responsible business operations.

“We enforce the law equally, no matter who you are,” Sheriff Bo Stallman said. “If a business is operating illegally, it will be shut down. These rules are in place to protect the community, and we’re committed to making sure everyone in our great county is safe.”

The Sheriff’s Office urges all business owners to review permitting requirements and comply with state and local laws. Community members with concerns about illegal operations are encouraged to report them directly to the Sheriff’s Office.
