A Cypress man was taken into custody after firing shots at deputies responding to his residence.
Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s office responded to the call in the 16400 block of Prairie Haven Court.

When first responders arrived, a male inside the residence fired shots at them. No deputies were injured.
Residents in the immediate area were asked to avoid the location, but the scene has since cleared.
The male involved is safe and undergoing medical evaluation.
Officials praised the swift and professional response of deputies, and all first responders involved.
“This incident highlights the dangers they face daily, even on seemingly routine calls,” a spokesperson with Constable Herman’s Office said in a Facebook post.
