Bodycam video shows knife-wielding man shot, killed by Harris Co. deputies outside clinic

HOUSTON – New video shared by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office showed the moment investigators said he refused to leave a clinic in northwest Harris County late Monday night.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Knife-wielding man shot, killed by deputies outside clinic in NW Harris County

It happened back in May, when security at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic on Cypress Woods Medical Drive off FM 1960 Rd. West confronted Ishmael Dennis, 56, sleeping in his car, telling him he needed to leave. When Davis refused, deputies were called to assist.

Bodycam video showed the moment when officers broke the window, opened the door, and deployed a taser while trying to get him out.

Once they were able to pull him out, HCSO shared a close-up of Dennis holding a knife before shots were fired by two deputies.

He died at the scene.
