Rain and thunderstorms will kick off our Wednesday, threatening our morning commute, and are expected to stay with us and worsen later in the day.

While there is no official risk of severe weather or flooding, we cannot rule out an isolated severe storm or two today. Regardless of whether the storms are “severe,” these thunderstorms can feel very intense and will make roads dangerous. Frequent lightning strikes and heavy downpours are likely with these storms.
Courtesy of high tropical moisture, we can see very high rainfall rates today, which means a quick 1-2″ is not out of the question with the heaviest of the storms. This could lead to localized street flooding, which is why you need to plan on extra time on the roads.
