It was a pretty calm start to Tuesday, but we’re tracking partly cloudy skies and chances for thunderstorms later in the day.

Although these storms are not expected to be organized or severe, some could produce heavy downpours and produce frequent lightning strikes.

The reason rain chances increase is due to high pressure moving east away from Texas. Without the high pressure, there will be no sinking air to dry out the atmosphere. Instead, a return of moisture from the Gulf moves in.
