HOUSTON – Houston’s northside neighborhoods will soon have better access to the METRO bus route starting June 23, 2025.
METRO partnered with Evolve Houston to expand its reach. Residents in the northern reaches of the city can now use the microtransit service to connect with METRO’s service.

The microtransit service is a free, on demand, smaller vehicle that allows people from further away to ride to a METRO bus or rail service stop.
Since the METRO bus cannot change its route to pick up more people, the microtransit service will bring the people to the bus.

METRO says the goal of the microtransit service is “to bridge the ‘first and last mile’” of a rider’s trip.
Ideally this means that the microtransit service can drop you off at the METRO stop or pick you up from the METRO stop as long as the distance is only a mile away.
In order to use this service Houstonians need to download the Ride Circuit app.
The app tells you if your pickup and drop off location are within the zones of the microtransit service.
