White House border czar says ICE will continue raids, prioritize criminals

On Thursday, White House border czar Tom Homan clarified U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) policy regarding immigration raids at worksites, including farms and hotels, according to a report from NBC News.

Homan emphasized that the Trump administration will continue these operations but will prioritize criminals.

“The message is clear now that we’re going to continue doing worksite enforcement operations, even on farms and hotels, but based on a prioritized basis,” Homan said. “Criminals come first.”

This announcement follows the Department of Homeland Security’s recent reversal of guidance that had called for a pause on operations at these locations.

Homan also noted that the administration is focusing resources sanctuary cities, explaining that they “knowingly release public safety threats, illegal aliens to the community every day.”
