LIVE RADAR: Heavy downpour approaching parts of Houston this afternoon

The likelihood of rain and storms increases as the day goes on, with temperatures climbing into the lower 90s by 2 p.m.

Storms are likely to start popping up around 1 p.m., becoming more widespread during the hottest part of the afternoon. While these are not expected to be organized severe storms, brief heavy rain and occasional lightning are possible.
